When living in NYC in the late 1980’s sometimes I would lie UP about my age. I was 21, maybe 22, and would tell people that I was 28, or 30 if I thought I could get away with it. “WHAT? You look fabulous!” I have no idea why I did this. Harmless, sure, but tough to walk back that lie. Many people genuinely thought I was 8 years older than my real age. Even now my Facebook profile has me hovering around 60. I can’t change it. Sometimes it’s fun to be the youngest oldest person in the room.
